Case Study: Impulse Powers Guayakí Yerba Mate’s Growth

The Challenge

Guayakí’s IT team inherited a network that lacked consistency, security, and visibility. Their previous MSP had deployed different networking gear at each of their 20+ locations, leaving IT staff struggling to troubleshoot remote sites. With no standardization, no way to centrally manage the infrastructure, and no built-in security, the company needed a complete networking overhaul – one that would unify operations, enhance security, and provide seamless failover for key locations.

The Solution

To solve Guayakí’s networking challenges, Impulse implemented Cato Networks' cloud-based security and connectivity platform. We installed Cato x1500 Sockets at each location, providing the redundancy and centralized management they needed. Through Cato’s single-pane-of-glass portal, Guayakí could now monitor and manage all sites in real time. Our NOC engineers collaborated with their IT team to define security policies, build a structured deployment plan, and ensure seamless adoption. Impulse’s project managers handled every detail, from designing the cutover process to overseeing circuit redundancy for high-priority locations. With hands-on training, Guayakí’s team was fully equipped to leverage Cato’s advanced security and SD-WAN features.

"Impulse gave us the confidence that our network could scale with our growth." - Nelson Saenz, VP Technology, Guayaki

The Results

With Impulse’s help, Guayakí now has a streamlined, centrally managed network that has improved security, reliability, and efficiency across 23 locations. Their IT team can now monitor all sites in real time from a single portal, receiving instant alerts when an issue arises. Cato’s SD-WAN failover ensures that critical locations stay online without disruption, while the cloud-based security features provide advanced protection. The implementation of ZTNA for remote workers has further strengthened security and simplified remote access. Most importantly, the shift to a standardized, managed solution has optimized IT resources, enabling a lean team to oversee a global network without reliance on an MSP.
