Wolfe Awards – April 2018

Written by Michael Papa | May 1, 2018 7:00:00 AM

April was a busy month for Wolfe Awards.  Impulse presented twelve awards to ten team members!

As stated in previous posts, to be approved for a Wolfe Award, a staff member must have shown growth and/or excelled in one of the five Impulse Ideology categories: engineering, professionalism, passionate problem solving, local, and speed.

The following employees earned Wolfe Awards in April:

Cristian Small
Victoria Rosas nominated Cristian Small for his contribution in Professionalism.

A customer of ours called in specifically to say that Cristian, who worked the late shift, was super helpful when she had called at 7:00 pm.  The issue was determined to be a non-Impulse related issue, however, our customer said that Cristian remained “patient & nice” throughout the entire call and helped her resolve the issue.

Christopher Waytek nominated Cristian Small for his contribution in Local.

A customer of ours called in late in the afternoon during the first week of April after their power plug was installed.  This customer was requesting for their equipment to be plugged in.  Cristian was given short notice but, as always, he jumped at the opportunity to help the customer and to advance his own experience and skill.  He completed the install in a timely and professional manner.  Thank you, Cristian for your contribution to the Professional and Local pillars of Impulse.  He has received a white and a green bowtie along with two $50 American Express gift cards for these two Wolfe Awards!

Roderick Newill
Michael Papa nominated Roderick Newill for his contribution in Professionalism.

Working in Product Development, Michael tends to work on one-off tasks that require systems’ help.  In the month of April, these tasks and projects required a lot of help from Roderick.  Roderick exudes professionalism when he breaks away time after time from his hyperfocus-required workload to help the Product department.

Alicia Canto nominated Roderick Newill for his contribution in Speed.

Roderick dropped everything he was doing to help Alicia fix the invoice and printing issues she was having. Knowing that Alicia leaves early, he ensured that the issues were fixed before she left for the day, relieving her from the stress of leaving something broken to come back to in the morning. Roderick has earned a white and a blue bowtie and two $50 American Express gift cards for his contributions.  Thank you for all that you do, Roderick.

Sean Carmean
Christopher Waytek nominated Sean Carmean for his contribution in Professionalism.

While our Senior Network Engineer was out of the office, a fairly new Network Engineer to the Impulse team, Sean, took it upon himself to configure most of the hardware that had been piling up on our Service Implementation and New Projects workbench to help David Lopez.  This hardware primarily consists of routers and switches intended to be installed at customers’ locations.  Sean is growing his Impulse engineering skill set and helping out the team tremendously.  Sean has been awarded a white bow tie and a $50 American Express gift card.

David Lopez
Cristian Small nominated David Lopez for his contribution in Professionalism.

When David arrived at a new customer’s site, he ran into numerous hurdles: a vendor was late, there was no power to the equipment, and cabling was not complete. David was very professional as he educated everyone involved and got the job done!  David has been known to be very competent and knowledgeable when he is at a customer’s location.  He is a true representation of Impulse’s quality of service.  Thank you, David!  He received a white bowtie and a $50 American Express gift card for his contribution.

Mahdroo McCaleb
Victoria Rosas and Daniel Luna nominated Mahdroo McCaleb for his contribution in Passionate Problem Solving.

A customer of ours required a full overhaul of their call center reporting. Mahdroo took on the arduous task of mastering call center reporting. He gathered multiple reports for the customer, disseminated the information into easy-to-understand Excel spreadsheets, and was able to explain to the customer how their call centers and reports worked. Mahdroo has received a yellow bowtie and a $50 American Express gift card for his contribution. Thank you, Mahdroo!

Mishan Warnakulasuriya
Tracy Green nominated Mishan Warnukulasuriya for his contribution in Professionalism.

A customer went out of her way to express how quick to respond and helpful Mishan has been with her requests. It is always great to have positive feedback from our customers. For this, Mishan has earned a white bowtie and a $50 American Express gift card. Thank you, Mishan!

Alicia Canto
Tracy Green nominated Alica Canto for her contribution in Passionate Problem Solving.

Tracy had to put together a large contract using Excel (the slow, manual method for creating contracts) and was running low on time. Alicia swooped in right before she was set to leave for the day with the Excel proficiency and customer knowledge that Tracy needed and saved the day. For this, Alicia was presented with a yellow bowtie and a $50 American Express gift card. Thank you, Alicia!

Victoria Rosas
Tracy Green nominated Victoria Rosas for her contribution in Speed.

Tracy had to put together the large contact that she was working on with Alicia using Excel (the slow, manual method for creating a contract) and was running low on time. Victoria helped Tracy build the contract. For this, Victoria was presented with a blue bowtie and a $50 American Express gift card. Thank you, Victoria!

Marc Pueschel
Morgan Steffen nominated Marc Pueschel for his contribution in Professionalism.

A customer called in at 9:00 pm in the process of moving equipment. Marc worked with him throughout the night. The customer later called Morgan to tell her how great Marc was while helping him think through his issue. In the customer’s words, “Marc is a Stud!” Marc earned a white bowtie and a $50 American Express gift card. Thanks, Marc!

Steve Borgogna
Victoria Rosas nominated Steve Borgogna for his contribution in Passionate Problem Solving.

A concierge customer’s phone was experiencing issues the day before a portion of our executive team was traveling to visit them. Steve understood the urgency and stopped what he was doing. He ended up on a two-hour phone call with the customer and restored services. Steve received a yellow bowtie and a $50 American Express gift card. Thank you, Steve!
