How ClearStar works
ClearStar is a hosted Voice over IP phone system. With ClearStar, all of the features that normally reside in a PBX or Key-system (sitting in your dusty closet) are hosted offsite, and managed by Impulse. This allows a business of any size to take advantage of robust big business features without all the headaches associated with owning and managing a complex VoIP phone system.
With the phone system hosted offsite, less is installed at the customer’s location. No need for phone lines from the phone company, or expensive onsite visits from the “phone guy” to make a simple change.
The ClearStar phone system is comprised of three elements: ClearStar PBX Service, Internet access, and hardware (phones, Internet router, and ethernet switches). Impulse provides your Internet access and phone service, configures and monitors your routers, and trains your users how to use their new phones.

ClearStar Account Types
Impulse offers the following ClearStar accounts. Each phone needs one of the following accounts associated with it:
- Intended for a typical company employee. Each account includes phone number, extension, all standard PBX features, voicemail, Web-portal access, and the Internet toolbar.

- The Executive Account is intended for today's on-the-go employee. It adds sequential ring, simultaneous ring, soft-phone access, and the ability to have your account (extension) programmed on multiple phones.

- Perfect for lobby phones or conference room phones. Each account includes a phone number and extension, as well as all standard PBX features. Basic Accounts do not include voicemail or Outlook/Internet toolbar access.

- Provides a main phone number with a company auto attendant that can direct calls via hunt groups, extension, or dial-by-name directory.

- Provides an inbound fax phone number to receive faxes, which are then emailed to the user. Each employee can have a dedicated fax number.
