Leading Regional Internet Service Providers Complete Previously Announced Transaction
Santa Barbara, CA, May 20th, 2002 - Impulse Internet Services and FIX Net announced today the completion of their transaction merging operations. The companies both provide Internet services to residences and businesses, with Impulse Internet Services operating primarily in Santa Barbara County, and FIX Net operating primarily in San Luis Obispo County.
The combined company expects to be able to leverage greater buying power and economies of scale to supplement existing network infrastructure, bringing more services, faster speeds, and greater reliability to their existing customers. Among the planned service enhancements:
- Nationwide dial-up access numbers for users who travel or are moving out of the area
- World-class data-center facilities for customers choosing to co-locate their servers
- A fiber-optic network traversing the Central Coast providing higher speeds, enhanced redundancy and greater reliability
