Impulse Acquires SYV.com Internet Services

Santa Barbara, CA, March 31st, 2009 –Impulse Internet Services announced today it has acquired SYV.com Internet Services, a local Internet service provider that operates a Santa Ynez Valley fixed wireless and landline Internet network.  SYV.com also markets under the Highway246.net brand and is owned and operated by Kevin McConnell, who will continue to offer computer support services in the Santa Ynez Valley under the new company name of “Pro Active Computer Service.”   SYV.com customers will benefit from the larger customer support staff, bigger Internet backbone connections, and additional services Impulse provides.

 “I wanted to be able to focus on my computer service business, and at the same time improve the quality of service that my Internet customers receive, said Kevin McConnell, owner of SYV.com.  “I felt the best course of action was to have Impulse take the reins so they can do what they do best – provide advanced communication services to the SYV.com Internet customers – while I continue doing what I do best – professional on-site computer support,” Kevin continued.  

“Wireless Internet access is critical to a significant number of Santa Ynez Valley small businesses and home offices as the only practical broadband option,  and I am excited to be able to augment our network’s reach and capacity with the additional wireless points of presence Kevin has established,” said Dave Clark, President of Impulse.  “We are able to reach most locations within the respective city limits around the Valley through ADSL over the telephone network infrastructure, but once you get a few miles outside the city limits wireless and satellite are the only relatively low cost options, and satellite does not perform well enough for many broadband uses.”
